Visit the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for this year’s Family Day celebration of African and African American arts and culture, Saturday, June 10, from eleven to three.
Become an artist for the day while exploring traditional art objects, art activities, and performances and entertainment related to VMFA’s collection and special exhibitions. Activities are recommended for children ages three to twelve, but all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Explore the theme of adornment through artwork in VMFA’s collection, and enjoy artist demonstrations, performances by the Elegba Folklore Society, and music with DJ Mikemetic. Participate in art activities with the kids, including Zulu-inspired jewelry making, and so much more! The event is free and no tickets are required. A full event schedule and map can be found at VMFA.com.
