Summer Academy for Policy Leadership and Public Service at the VCU Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs
Policy Pathways, a Richmond-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, fills a unique and exciting niche in supplementing high school and post-secondary education.
We are dedicated to educating, training, and empowering the next generation of policy-makers. Our signature course offering, the two-week Summer Academy for Policy Leadership and Public Service (SA), is an in-person and online program that prepares participants for college and career pipelines in public policy and administration, while feeding their yearning for change and purpose. This year, the SA will be held at the VCU Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs.
The Summer Academy is offered to youth and young adults who are interested in learning about how public policies are made and impact lives, communities, and the world.
Our educational programming and real-world Capstone projects draw upon an international network of professors, policy decision-makers, and corporate and nonprofit leaders who teach on a wide variety of related topics: Critical Thinking, Foreign Policy, Statistics, Data Analysis, Advocacy and Persuasion, Economics, Leadership and Citizenship Development, and more.
We encourage individuals ages 15 – 25 to apply! No prior experience in civics or policy is required for participation. Scholarships are available. Turn your passion into policy!
