Materials
- Small paper cup or bowl
- Yarn
- Scissors
Instructions
- Starting from the top rim of your cup or bowl, cut down toward the base, without cutting all the way down. Repeat to create at least five sections on your cup or seven or nine sections on a bowl. You must have an odd number of sections to work with.
- Grab the end of the yarn and hold a one-inch tail against an outside section of the cup while weaving the yarn behind the next section.
- Begin weaving front to back around the cup, covering the tail as you return to the first section.
- Continue weaving until you reach the top rim.
- If you run out of yarn or want to change yarn at any time, tie the two ends into a knot and continue weaving. Try to put the knot on the inside of your cup or bowl.
- When you have woven all the way to the top, cut the yarn leaving a small tail at the end.
- Tuck the tail behind the woven yarn to hide and secure.
- If you make a bowl, finish it by folding down the uncovered top edges.
- All done! Fill your cup or bowl with treats or toys.
