Looking for a fun, welcoming way to wrap up summer? RVA Duck Fest is making its debut at CarMax Park on Saturday, August 22, from 2–6 p.m., bringing together a FREE afternoon of family fun, entertainment, and community connections for people of all ages and abilities.

Hosted by the Autism Society of Central Virginia and presented by CoStar Group, RVA Duck Fest is the exciting next chapter of Richmond’s beloved RVA Duck Race. Whether your family includes a toddler discovering new adventures, a child with autism or another disability, or grandparents joining in the fun, RVA Duck Fest is designed to be a place where everyone can feel welcome.

A Day Full of Family Fun

Families can look forward to:

  • A family-friendly Silent Disco
  • The NEW! Chuck-a-Duck Challenge
  • Hands-on games and activities
  • Live music and entertainment
  • More than 40 community partners with activities, information, and resources
  • Photos and high-fives with Waddles, Duck Fest’s lovable mascot

Need a break? Visit the Sensory Tent, cool off in the Cooling Zone, relax in one of the air-conditioned spaces, grab a bite to eat, then jump back into the fun. Duck Fest is designed to give families plenty of ways to enjoy the afternoon together.

More Than a Festival

One of the things that makes RVA Duck Fest unique is the opportunity to connect with more than 40 local organizations. Through hands-on activities and interactive experiences, families can discover camps, recreation programs, therapies, healthcare providers, advocacy organizations, and other resources supporting individuals with autism and other disabilities.

Throughout the afternoon, personalities from 12 On Your Side will join the fun, meet families, emcee the day’s activities, and help count down to one of the festival’s biggest moments: the $10,000 Lucky Duck Raffle drawing.

Families can purchase Lucky Duck Raffle tickets online before the event or on-site during Duck Fest for a chance to win the $10,000 Grand Prize. Every ticket purchased helps the Autism Society of Central Virginia provide more than 460 programs each year, including social and recreational opportunities, support groups, training, and educational programs for individuals with autism and their families throughout Central Virginia.
