Celebrate green this St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2015, at the Virginia Zoo. Get out your green garb and wear it to the zoo and receive half off your admission for the day from 10am – 5 pm. The more green the merrier.

Madagascar Giant Day Gecko is vibrant green which helps them blend in with their forested habit, hiding from both predators and prey. Native to Madagascar, they are ground in tropical and sub-tropical forests, orchards and villages. A male Giant Day gecko will grow up to 11-inches long. They communicate using clicks, squeaks, barks and croaks, unlike many other lizards that simply hiss or make no sound at all.
