Help CrossOver Provide Nearly 1,200 Gift Cards to Patients and Their Families

As the holiday season approaches, many patients at CrossOver Healthcare Ministry could use extra support. This time may be particularly tough for those who are sick or have limited financial resources, especially for those still coping with pandemic-related challenges.

The Holiday Families program was created out of patients’ need and the compassionate hearts of the CrossOver case management team. This would not be possible without the community’s support, compassion, and generosity. These extra gifts put resources directly into the hands of families in need this season.

This year, CrossOver is again asking for donations of $25 Walmart gift cards to provide families of patients with the means to purchase a holiday meal and gifts for their children. Each family will receive a personalized holiday card along with the gift cards. The amount of gift cards provided will be determined by household size.

Why continue the program format that was created in 2020 as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic?

  • Safety: It’s more efficient to gather, sort, and distribute gift cards in a way that allows for social distancing and keeps donors, staff, volunteers, and CrossOver families safe.
  • Equity: In the past, some families have received many gifts while others have received fewer. It’a easier to ensure that each family receives support proportional to their family size.
  • Empowerment: Giving gift cards to families allows them to purchase the food and gifts they know will bring holiday cheer to their household. They know their children best, and they’ll know exactly what to buy to make the holidays special.

Local families need you now more than ever. Please support CrossOver families by signing up to donate Walmart gift cards in $25 denominations. The goal is to collect a total of 1,151 $25 Walmart gift cards (total value of $28,755) to make this program a success.
