Lynnhaven Academy is proud to announce the move from its campus in Forest Hill to Glendale Community Bible Church, a 25-acre campus in the heart of Eastern Henrico. This move, which will be complete in July 2021, aims to expand its experiential and outdoor programming. Lynnhaven, a college preparatory, independent school for students in grades 6-12, has been at their current location for four years.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Lynnhaven – I couldn’t imagine a better setting for my child to learn and for the school to continue to enrich the lives of so many. Lynx pride is real,” said a current parent of the school.
The new location will offer students an educational experience and a lifestyle found at no other independent day school in the Richmond area. With historic parks and the James River nearby, this idyllic setting is in step with the school’s hands-on learning focus.
Christina Owens, the chairwoman of Lynnhaven Academy’s Board of Trustees, stated that “Lynnhaven Academy continues to be a beacon for students who thrive in a creative, compassionate, collaborative environment. I, along with the Board of Trustees, look forward to Lynnhaven’s growth as we transition into the next decade.”
Johnathan Harris, Lynnhaven’s founder and executive director, said, “the relocation to this new campus allows us freedom and autonomy like we’ve not experienced before as a school. The students will be refreshingly free of distractions. I would like to thank Pastor Sweeney and the trustees at Glendale Community Bible Church for this incredible opportunity. I am excited about fulfilling the school’s vision to be a ‘haven’ for all students as they learn, think, and grow.”
