The Richmond and Henrico Health Districts (RHHD) are offering special COVID-19 vaccination events for 5-11 year olds. These events, in partnership with Richmond Public Schools (RPS) and Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS), offer a weekend option for parents in a space that may already be familiar to families.
“Many of our parents are eager to have their 5-11 year olds vaccinated and we are excited to assist in the process,” explains Dr. Beth Teigen of HCPS. “Vaccinated children are less likely to experience illness and a disruption in their education… it can bring peace of mind to families.”
“RPS and HCPS have been incredible partners throughout the pandemic,” explains Lawanda Dunn, nurse supervisor at RHHD. “Parents trust their school system… they are critical messengers in getting parents the info they need.”
All events are held on Saturdays from 10:00am-3:00pm. Locations are listed below. The clinics will require children to have an appointment. Walk ups will be served if there is enough supply on hand; otherwise, staff will schedule an appointment for them for another clinic.
- November 13 (first doses): Fairfield Middle School, MLK Middle School
- November 20 (first doses): Elko Middle School, George Wythe High School
- December 4 (second doses): Fairfield Middle School, MLK Middle School
