The Richmond SPCA’s signature Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party is back for its 23rd year on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Welcome spring at this family- and pet-friendly event presented by Holiday Barn Pet Resorts.

Join a day of family fun

The event will be held at the Richmond SPCA’s humane center on Hermitage Road and will feature:

  • A chipped-timed 5K race for runners and walkers
  • A leisurely 1-mile Dog Jog for people and their canine companions
  • A lively block party with local vendors, artisans, food trucks and adult beverages
  • Live music headlined by popular local cover band Sold Separately
  • A free Kids Fun Run for children ages 4-10
Richmond SPCA Dog Jog

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Richmond SPCA and the more than 18,000 animals they serve each year. This includes sheltering and rehabilitating approximately 4,000 homeless dogs and cats, providing low-cost veterinary care, offering a free behavior helpline, and hosting training classes and humane education programs for children.

How to get involved

Richmond SPCA Dog Jog

There are several ways to help the Richmond SPCA reach this year’s fundraising goal of $215,000:

  • Register for the 5K or Dog Jog: Early bird pricing is available until March 1. The first 1,000 registrants will receive a commemorative t-shirt, medal and swag bag.
  • Become a sponsor: Elevate your brand while aligning with a cause that resonates with our community. Please contact Laurie Mavica, manager of events at lmavica@richomndspca.org, for sponsorship details.
  • Donate: Support an individual or team with a gift of any amount. Each contribution makes a difference in the life of an animal in our community.
  • Purchase raffle tickets: Purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win one of five amazing prizes. Visit richmondspca.org/raffle.
