Sports Backers is thrilled to introduce a brand-new Run Club Grant Program, designed to fuel the growth and impact of running and walking clubs across the Richmond region. This exciting initiative will help local clubs expand their reach, welcome more people into active lifestyles, and strengthen the vibrant community of walkers and runners.
Applications are now open for reimbursable grants of up to $300. Clubs can apply for funding via the application, and selected groups will receive approval for purchases that support their members. Once purchases are made, clubs can submit receipts for the approved purchases and receive reimbursement from Sports Backers.
“Sports Backers is proud to be a catalyst for the growth of local run and fitness clubs in our community,” said Will Dixon, Executive Director of Sports Backers. “These groups bring people together, support healthier lives, and create connections that last well beyond a workout. By working alongside them, we’re helping the movement for active living take root and thrive across Richmond.”
In addition to funding, participating clubs will receive an automatic invitation to Warehouse Day, where 1-2 club representatives per club can shop Sports Backers’ warehouse for supplies such as Nuun hydration, gels, energy drinks, leftover race swag, and paper products. The first Warehouse Day will be held this October
Applications for the Run Club Grant Program are open from Sept. 2 – 16. Award announcements will be shared before the end of September. Clubs interested in applying can visit https://www.tfaforms.com/5193075.
