Travel to a galaxy far, far away during Science After Dark at the Science Museum of Virginia on Friday, December 18. It’s a special evening of science with cameos from famous characters in film, including C3P0, R2D2 and Iron Man.
The Dome theater will feature an all-live Star Wars themed Cosmic Expedition at 6:30 p.m., followed by a special screening of Iron Man at 8 p.m. Before the shows, guests can explore the Museum to uncover androids, cyborgs and cutting-edge technology in the traveling exhibition, Alien Worlds and Androids.
In Alien Worlds and Androids, guests discover fantastic cosmic realms depicted in popular science fiction films and unearth alien-like creatures found on our planet. The futuristic exhibition explores distant galaxies to the microscopic ‘aliens’ that live inside our bodies and asks the question “Are we alone in the universe?” Take a journey through the cosmos and step outside to stargaze through telescopes with the Richmond Astronomical Society.
Science After Dark is a monthly evening event held on the third Friday of the month at the Science Museum of Virginia. The next Science After Dark will be Friday, January 15.
Science After Dark admission is $5 or free for members. Advance reservations for the Cosmic Expedition and Iron Man are highly recommended. Please call 804.864.1400 to reserve your seats.
