Virginia Women’s Center’s (VWC) new Short Pump location is open and welcoming patients.
The 36,000 square-foot facility was officially completed on April 1. A total of 65 staff members, including 13 doctors, and 3 nurse practitioners, will care for patients at VWC’s newest location.
Virginia Women’s Center coordinated a strategic move into the new location – just off West Broad Street and Gayton at 12129 Graham Meadows Drive. “Our vision was to meet our patients where they live, work, shop and play, and we believe we’ve achieved that goal with the opening of our new location,” said VWC President Dr. Kay Stout. “Not only are we able to offer more services to our patients, but the location is easy to find and very accessible to women throughout the area. It also offers an array of women’s healthcare services like no other single location in central Virginia.”
The addition of the new Short Pump office enables Virginia Women’s Center to make healthcare as convenient as possible for the women of Central Virginia. VWC recognizes that in today’s busy world, convenience is paramount to women getting the care they need and deserve.
At the new location, VWC will offer comprehensive gynecologic and obstetrical care along with numerous subspecialties—including urogynecology, urology, maternal fetal medicine, genetic counseling, clinical research, mental health, bone health, and breast health services. VWC will also offer the most up-to-date 3D mammography, and the ability for women to get their mammogram on the same day as their annual well-woman exam. In addition to screening mammography, Virginia Women’s Center offers comprehensive breast care including diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast biopsies.
The new location features a 300 square-foot community room where lecture series will be offered, as well as prenatal yoga classes.
“Our goal is to offer comprehensive, connected, collaborative care─all under one roof,” Stout said. Our new service area ensures that we’re convenient to women across the RVA region. And, poised to deliver babies and perform gynecologic services at area hospitals—including Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, Memorial Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Medical Center and St. Mary’s Hospital.”
