CMoR Speaker Series: Navigating Screens in the Early Years

This 1-hour research-informed adult workshop explores the impact of digital media on infants, toddlers, and young children through developmental and relational lenses. Participants will learn how screen use can influence early brain development, language, self-regulation, sleep, and caregiver-child relationships, while gaining practical, evidence-informed strategies for creating healthy digital habits and developing a family media plan. About the Speaker: Lucy Block Rimington is a Licensed Professional Counselor (Virginia) with 19 years of experience in the mental health field- in both private and nonprofit settings. Her experience includes work as a clinician in community based mental health, private practice, prevention services, parent education, and trauma-informed supervision in the non-profit sector. She currently serves as the Director of Community Programs at Greater Richmond SCAN; providing supervision and oversight to prevention programming, training, and clinical services for families.
