Materials

  • Cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Yarn
  • Stapler, tape, or hot glue gun
  • Found nature items (flowers, leaves, grass, stems, skinny branches)

Instructions

  1. Break down a cardboard box and cut out a long rectangle, big enough to wrap around your head.
  2. Cut out small triangles along the top to make points or create your own design.
  3. Attach the ends of the cardboard using a stapler, tape, or hot glue.
  4. Cut slits along the bottom, middle, and top of the crown.
  5. Cut a long piece of yarn. Knot the end of the yarn and anchor it to one of the slits you cut on the crown. Weave the yarn through the slits you made until the yarn runs out. Secure the yarn at the end on a slit and knot it. Repeat this process as many times as you’d like.
  6. Head outside for an adventure and collect any nature items you would like to use to decorate your crown.
  7. Weave the items through the yarn to hold them in place and admire your creation. Later, you can remove the nature items and do this activity again.
