Second Round of Engagement Asks for Online and In-Person Feedback

Richmond, VA — The city has launched another opportunity for residents to participate in the American Rescue Plan spending process. From September 21 to October 4, Richmonders are invited to provide feedback on the draft spending plan of $155 million in federal support.

The survey, available HERE, is open through October 4 at 11:59 p.m. It walks participants through the main spending buckets for the federal money and asks them how they rate the approach, what they might add, and what they might take away.

In addition to the survey, the city will host in-person public meetings where attendees will receive an informational presentation, have the chance to ask questions, and provide feedback on the draft plan. Meetings are dispersed throughout the city, and all are welcome at each:

  • September 28 at 6:00 p.m. at Southside Community Center, 6255 Old Warwick Road
  • September 30 at 6:00 p.m. at Diversity Richmond, 1407 Sherwood Avenue
  • October 4 at 6:00 p.m. at Boys and Girls Club Metro Richmond Teen Center, 1830 Creighton Avenue

Masks and appropriate social distancing will be required at in-person meetings.

The city is also conducting targeted engagement for residents who may want to participate but lack reliable internet access or the ability to attend an in-person meeting. The Office of Public Information and Engagement is working with the city’s Community Ambassadors, Office of Aging and Disabilities, Office of Multicultural Affairs and Richmond Public Schools to ensure as many Richmonders as possible have the opportunity to provide feedback.
