Henrico CASA’s Playhouses with a Purpose

Henrico CASA’s 5th Annual Home for Good® Event Brings Enchanted Playhouses to Life — and Awareness to Child Abuse Prevention

Now in its fifth year, Henrico CASA’s much-anticipated Home for Good® annual event raises awareness during Child Abuse Prevention Month by using luxury playhouses as visual reminders that every child deserves a safe and carefree childhood — one free from abuse or neglect.

Seven custom-designed playhouses are now on display at Short Pump Town Center and
Libbie Mill Library through Sunday, May 11. This year’s theme, Enchanted Childhoods,
highlights the imaginative worlds children deserve — and contrasts the harsh reality for many. While each playhouse features a unique design, all serve as symbols of hope for the up to 400 children Henrico CASA serves each year — children whose childhoods haven’t always been fairytales.

“While we can’t rewrite the past for children who have endured abuse and neglect, we can
ensure that isn’t where their story ends,” said Jeannine Panzera, Executive Director of Henrico CASA. “With CASA’s support, these children gain safety, stability, and a real chance to thrive.”

The community is invited to visit the playhouses for free — and also participate in
the fun by entering to win one. Each $10 donation made at HenricoCASA.org/Win-A
Playhouse earns a chance to bring a playhouse home, with all proceeds supporting CASA’s
advocacy for local children.

This meaningful event is only possible thanks to strong community collaboration. The one-of-a kind structures were crafted by The Branch Group, Classic Construction, DPR Construction, Loughridge & Company, UrbanCore Construction, W.M. Jordan Company, and Henrico County Public Schools’ Career & Technical Education students. Major sponsors include QTS Data Centers, Liesfeld Contractor, Pearson Signature Dealerships, and River Run Dental with more than 70 additional businesses contributing through sponsorships and in-kind support.

Celebrating 30 Years of Advocacy

As Henrico CASA marks the fifth year of Home for Good®, it also celebrates a major milestone: 30 years of service to children and the courts. Since 1994, the organization has amplified the voices of more than 4,370 vulnerable children — ensuring they are seen, heard, and given the opportunity for a brighter, safer future.
