Donation Collection Sunday at Chino Star Barbershop in Richmond

Drop off donations at Chino Star Barbershop, 6838 Midlothian Turnpike, Sunday, October 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p..m.

Richmonders are rallying to aid Puerto Rico’s relief efforts as the island territory struggles to recover from the ravages of hurricane Maria.

Here’s how you can help:
Drop off donations at Chino Star Barbershop, 6838 Midlothian Turnpike, Sunday, October 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Everything collected will be an sent to Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration office in Washington DC.

Items to donate:
• Water
• Canned food
• Powdered milk or drinks in individual containers
• Flashlights and batteries
• Portable-battery lanterns
• Candles
• Matches and lighters
• Radio or battery television
• Battery alarm clock
• Manual can opener
• Disposable kitchen utensils, plates and cups
• First aid kits
• Battery-powered fans
• Toiletries
• Feminine hygiene products
• Medicines
• Mosquito repellent
• Bleach (chlorine)
• Tablets to purify the water
• Disposable diapers and individual baby wipes
• Formula milk, baby food, and medicine
• Pedialyte
• Cleaning products
• Garbage bags
• Generators
• MRE’s (ready-to-eat meals) military food
• Canned or dry food for pets
