Richmond women recently enjoyed a local screening of PBS’ “The (M) Factor,” a groundbreaking documentary about menopause, followed by a panel discussion with local healthcare providers who treat perimenopausal and menopausal women every day. Areas of expertise spanned gynecology, pelvic floor physical therapy, mental health, and homeopathy.
Topics covered in the panel discussion included a deep dive into menopause hormone therapy and other treatment options, how to prevent osteoporosis and muscle loss, the influence of the gut microbiome on menopause, how to choose the right supplements, and coping mechanisms for managing mental health symptoms during menopause, to name just a few.
The event aimed to empower women with menopause education and give them practical strategies for finding relief during this challenging time of life. To that end, each panelist has shared their favorite, trusted resources to help women going through perimenopause or menopause find more answers, guidance, and support.
