Why You Need A Travel Advisor

I’ve been asked by friends and family why I became a travel advisor and if anyone actually uses them. The answer is YES, and here is why it just makes sense: Your time and money are valuable, and travel advisors have access to great resources. We use advisors for many aspects in our daily life: Financial Advisors , Real Estate Advisors, and Insurance Advisors. Why not a travel advisor who invests the time and energy to maximize your travel and money?

We all know we can book travel on platforms like Expedia or Travelocity, but the ability to be able to connect with a “live person” who will easily assist if there’s an issue is pretty slim. Plus, these sites often have hidden fees and do not offer any personalized service.

When you work with me as your trusted travel agent, there are no hidden fees or charges; I am paid from the suppliers once your travel is complete.

Partnering with me for your travel needs will offer you much better service than any online search engine, plus you will benefit from any perks I can offer. And you never have to worry that you’ll lose control of your trip. The planning will a combined effort of my listening to your wishes and then curating your experience based on your vision.

What Travel Advisors Do:

  • Save You Time: Your Travel Agent handles the research and  finds the perfect options based on your feedback.
  • Offer Personalized Service: Travel Agents listen and then create customized vacation packages.
  • Have Insider Knowledge: Travel Agents have an extensive database and use feedback from previous clients and other travel advisors to always provide superior experiences.
  • Find Cost savings:  A Travel Agent will find the very best options for your budget and will search for promotional offers.
  • Leverage Contacts: Travel Agents establish professional relationships with trusted industry suppliers.
  • Offer a Point of Contact: Your Agent remains your point of contact for all things travel related from the planning stages until your trip is complete.
  • Handle Large Groups: Travel Agents can help with large groups that have a variety of needs.

About Me, Carissa Garabedian

Carissa Garabedian, Fora Independent Certified Travel Advisor
Carissa Garabedian, Fora Independent Certified Travel Advisor

You may remember me from my 14 years with Macaroni Kid Richmond. I thoroughly enjoyed my time connecting RVA families with events and resources, and I’m thrilled to be able to continue to help connect families with valuable resources, this time in the travel field. I am now a Certified Travel Advisor with Feather & Flight Travel, powered through FORA, and I am loving it!

Here’s a little more about my background:

Raised in the Virgin Islands, I was immersed in a rich culture that sparked my passion for exploration. After years living and working in the hustle and bustle of NYC, I lived in the Hamptons where I developed a keen eye for finding hidden gems. I’ve called Richmond home since 2009, and it has been wonderful raising my family in such a fabulous city.

I am a mom, wife, friend, and connector. I love when I can help people find what they need, which I have done over the years through counseling, online media, special needs advocacy, and now through travel. When I am not researching trips, you can find me cooking, which I love, reading, or taking a walk .

Feel free to reach out to me to begin planning your next trip. There is no itinerary too large or too small. I thrive on curating the perfect getaway, whether you are seeking relaxation, exploration or a combo of it all – I will tailor it all to exceed your wishes. There is a whole world to see out there, and it can be affordable and possible!
