Meet the Ninja Kidz: From Martial Arts to the Main Stage

Ashton Myler, his brothers Bryton and Paxton, and his sister Payton — a.k.a. the Ninja Kidz — came by their love of martial arts from their parents, who own a martial arts studio.

“I had dreamed of being a martial artist since my childhood,” says dad, Shane, a martial artist and instructor who has also been involved in stunt work. “That played a big part in creating Ninja Kidz.”

The siblings were only toddlers when they were introduced to the sport. They gained fame and an internet audience following a video their dad made of the siblings doing martial arts and posted on YouTube in early 2017. He hoped the video would encourage families to get out and have adventures together.

“I think one thing that has helped us as a family as far as connecting was the ability to opt in to any activity,” says Ashton, 20. “It was a great thing that my parents did. We could choose to do everything. It was fantastic growing up in martial arts. My dad went through every stage of life with me and my siblings.”

The family will bring their newest show, Ninja Kidz! Live on Stage Infinite Possibilities, to Altria Theater on August 28.

They are glad to be getting back on stage after competing on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior this season.

“We watched American Ninja Warrior growing up,” says Ashton. “We fell in love with the sport.”

The kids first competed on American Ninja Warrior Junior before taking on the signature race.

“We are working toward winning American Ninja Warrior,” says Ashton, who would also love to perform in movies and pen a book.

The remaining months in 2026 are jam-packed for the family. In addition to traveling to Ireland and Scotland for some obstacle course racing, the Ninja Kidz will team up with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey The Greatest Show On Earth during Ringling’s five-show engagement in San Diego.

Even though their schedule stays busy, the family really enjoys touring with their own show.

“I love performing and being on stage. It’s amazing,” Ashton says.

Action-Packed Family Entertainment

The live action touring show is action packed with physical challenges, dancing, singing, epic battles, and audience participation.

“It promotes good values,” says Shane, adding that it shows both good and evil versions of the kids. “It starts as a challenge show with villains trying to take over. We feel we have to show the results of not living good values.”

“We love doing this and seeing the kids’ eyes light up as they watch,” Shane says.
