Super Bowl Champion and Varina High School Graduate Michael Robinson
Invites Richmond-Area Kids to His Fifth Annual Youth Football Camp

Richmonder Michael Robinson, the starting fullback for the Super Bowl XLVIII Seattle Seahawks, will host his fifth annual football camp on May 17, 2014, at Varina High School. The event will include a non-contact football camp along with a community day with activities for kids and families.

There will also be fun kids’ activities such as the bounce house, face painting, and balloon art. Parent’s will also have an opportunity to participate in a fun bootcamp class.

The football camp is free and limited to 600 boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 18. Camp check-in is from nine to ten in the morning and the camp itself will be from ten to three o’clock with lunch provided by Chick-fil-A.  All campers must be pre-registered before camp. In addition to football instruction, Michael Robinson, fellow NFL Players, and area coaches will instill the importance of education, sportsmanship, and other life skills.

The camp is one of the annual events sponsored by the Excel to Excellence Foundation. The organization was founded by Robinson to provide educational programs, resources, and life experiences to help children achieve their dreams. The foundation recently added its first academic program called Team Excel, which takes place throughout the year at Varina High School. There are plans to expand the concept to other schools.
