On Give Kids a Smile Day, Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Dentistry Pediatric Dentistry Clinic will provide free services for children in need of dental care who do not have dental insurance.
The clinic will be open Friday, Feb. 3, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the VCU Dental Care Pediatric Practice, 521 N. 11th St.
The Department of Pediatric Dentistry will provide exams, cleanings, X-rays, fillings, extractions and minor restorations for children from birth to age eighteen. The Pediatric Dental Clinic has fourteen chairs with two suites for general anesthesia and two rooms for oral sedation, and specializes in dental care for medically compromised and special needs children as well as otherwise healthy children.
The program was designed to provide education and preventive and restorative oral health care for children.
Give Kids a Smile Day is organized annually by the American Dental Association during National Children’s Dental Health Month. The program has served approximately 350,000 children each year since starting in 2003. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call 804-828-9095, or visit Give Kids a Smile.
