Richmond Performing Arts Alliance presents Lights Up! For Educators. It’s a free professional development series for performing arts teachers. This three-day summer program covers topics such as sound design, light design, stage combat, and show promotion. Each day, attendees will participate in lessons and hands-on activities. Equipment and materials are available to practice the skills learned in that day’s session. Participants can then walk away with new tools to share with other educators and their students.

- Monday, June 24: Stage Combat for Educators + Show Promotion
- Tuesday, June 25: Light Plot Design + Board Operation
- Thursday, June 26: Basic Sound Technology + Board Operation
Daily Schedule:
- 9:30 AM-10:00 AM- Breakfast
- 10:00 AM-12:30 PM- Morning session
- 12:30 PM-1:00 PM- Lunch
- 1:00 PM- 3:30 PM- Afternoon session
Who Can Participate:
Performing arts teachers in local public or private schools are invited to attend sessions. Most of the training is intended for secondary educators, but elementary teachers are welcome to register if the course content aligns with their work.
