Nutzy’s Rotary Funn Run is taking on a new look this Saturday with Nutzy’s Ballpark to Brewery Dash, a route that goes from the Diamond to Hardywood Brewery. This marks the eighth year the Rotary Club of West Richmond is partnering with the Richmond Flying Squirrels to raise funds for local charities.

Runners, joggers, and walkers will start the race at two o’clock at the Diamond and make their way to Hardywood Brewery for an official kickoff to the holiday season. Race registration will begin at eleven at the Diamond in conjunction with the Puritan Cleaners Coats for Kids Warming Party. People can bring their gently used coats and enjoy hot dogs, music, and kids’ activities while they get ready to dash to Hardywood where beer, music, games, and food trucks await.

The dash this year supports UMFS, Flying Squirrels Charities, and the Rotary of West Richmond Foundation. A champion for high-risk children and families across Virginia, UMFS will use proceeds from the event to support educational scholarships and the most critical needs of the children it serves.

Flying Squirrels Charities is the charity arm of the Richmond Flying Squirrels. The organization collaborates with the Greater Richmond community to benefit youth in the City of Richmond. The West Richmond Rotary Club Foundation carries out the charitable and educational activities of the Rotary Club of West Richmond, which has worked to improve the lives of children and families in the community and abroad for more than fifty-eight years.

“We wanted to support these organizations because of their work with children and youth in the community,” says event chairman and Rotary member John Coor. “We are ready to hit it out of the park this year and make a difference for kids in the community.”

Registration for the November 2 race is $25 for adults and $10 for youth and includes an official Nutzy’s Ballpark to Brewery Dash t-shirt. Adults will receive a drink ticket and other fun swag with their registration.

Take advantage of walk-up registration on Saturday, November 2. Or to register in advance, go here.
