One of Richmond’s most popular summer fundraising events, Anthem LemonAid presented by Richmond Ford, is back. The twenty-fifth annual Anthem LemonAid will take place the weekend of July 18-20, 2025. During the weekend event, hundreds of lemonade stands will pop up throughout the Richmond region to benefit hematology and oncology services at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.
Each year, an Anthem LemonAid ambassador is selected to help promote the event. This year’s ambassador is Ava Lester, an eleven-year-old patient at CHoR who was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, an aggressive bone marrow and blood cancer.
“It’s important to stay positive even when things are hard,” said Ava, who hopes to be a nurse practitioner when she’s older. “It’s going to be tough so you can’t be sad all the time.”
