DiggityDudesA jam-packed lineup will fill the air with
music for families at the fifth annual DiggityFEST!

The event, which features family-friendly music of all kinds, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., at Westchester Commons in Midlothian. It is the only festival dedicated to kids’ music in the region, and has rapidly gained in popularity each year.

The event is free, with $5 wristbands for Kid Zone activities.

Music schedule:

Susan Greenbaum Band … 1:15 to 2:15
Silly Bus … 2:30 to 3:30
The Diggity Dudes …  3:45 to 4:45

This is the farewell performance for Richmond’s band of musical dads known as The Diggity Dudes.

DiggityFest is a benefit for the local, non-profit, Connor’s Heroes Foundation. Connor’s Heroes provides financial and emotional support to the hundred area children who are diagnosed with childhood cancer every year and are treated at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. Childhood cancer is the number one disease killer of children. Connor’s Heroes surrounds a family with a community of volunteers who help with meals, emotional support, hospital visits, outings and family activities. Since its founding in 2006, Connor’s Heroes has helped more than 1,000 families. In between musical performances, several of the children helped by Connor’s Heroes will be on the main stage to receive a donation of $5,000 from AT&T.

Over 30 local businesses will provide hands-on activities and have giveaways. The Chippenham Pediatrics Kid Zone activities will include multiple inflatables, crafts, and more. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs or a blanket for a day of music and fun. DiggityFest happens rain or shine. Westchester Commons is located at the intersection of Route 288 and Midlothian Turnpike in Midlothian. Photographers are welcome. For more information, please call 804-897-1272 or visit http://www.connorsheroes.org/whats-happening/diggityfest.
